Summer to me simply means ice coffee, flip flops and a new bikini.
We all have a start date when we begin that diet of the moment so when the bikini comes out of winter hibernation it’s not embarrassed to be seen on that body.
But a more “embarrassing” issue that I had was during boot season I developed a fungus on one of my toes. I’m not going to tell you which one, because it’s gone and that’s what this post is actually about.
You can’t wear flip flops with a toe like that. I panicked back in February. I read about anti-fungal creams available over the counter, but their track record is not great. The oral anti-fungal medications scare me with side effects like liver disease.
A dermatologist friend from Seal Beach suggested a cream and that I keep the nail trimmed short. Also to try to keep it as dry as possible. But I’m scared of medicated creams so I decided to contact Debbie the organic genius who really helped me with some great probiotics recently. She gave me a small bottle of tea tree oil.
Debbie said “Paint the oil on affected nails twice a day for at least two months.”
Two months later I’m a believer in tea tree oil. It worked. It has a in-your-face smell of power and freshness and a little cooling sensation. It’s powerful stuff.
I know that Pura D’or uses tea tree oil in its organic products. So now that I use Pura D’or shampoo on my head and tea tree oil on my toes, I can say that tea tree oil really saved my summer. Without the flip flops its just not the same.
Remember, enjoy your summer organically!
