The One Mistake That Can Ruin Your Hair

Taking care of your hair is important it’s true. No one wants to lose it at a young age. So it’s a good thing that caring for it is not such a hard task. Contrary to what magazines and commercials try to tell you, you do not need five different products for your hair to look good. You only need one very good quality shampoo and conditioner and that’s it.

It’s after you wash your hair that can sometimes cause problems. Many times you are in a rush, and there are a lot of tasks you have to get through. In order to make things faster you decide to towel dry you hair, brush it roughly and quickly, and if its long to tie it back in a ponytail all while it’s still wet.

Wet hair is more fragile than dry hair. It needs to be treated gently. One of the biggest hair mistakes you can make is to towel dry it in a rush and pin it up when it’s wet. If the brushing won’t break it, then the hair elastic or bobby pins will. If you do this too many times, the breakage will be visually noticeable.

It’s much easier to prevent damage than to fix it once it happens. Next time you are in a rush to get out the door when your hair is wet, don’t give in to the urge to tie it back. Don’t use a blow dryer on the hottest setting either. That will burn your hair. Either use a cooler temperature dryer or leave it down and let it air dry.

While these solutions may not be the most comfortable for you, and pulling back wet hair may be a habit that is hard to break, the extra effort is worth it. Your hair will be much healthier, which in turn will make it look better. And who doesn’t want naturally good looking hair?
