How Seaweed Can Help You Keep Your Hair

Seaweed for my hair? I like seaweed. It tastes great in sushi or just toasted with a bit of soy sauce. It’s full of nutrients such as vitamins A and C. It’s also an excellent source of iodine. Without iodine, our thyroids can’t function properly. This in turn can lead to weight gain, hair loss and many other very serious negative health effects. Seaweed is also a powerful source of antioxidants that can help stop inflammation. So I try to eat some seaweed containing foods a few times a week.

There are different varieties of seaweed. Some are red, others brown, while yet others are green. There is a particular red seaweed, native to Jeju Island in Korea that is known for its extraordinary anti inflammatory properties. The extract of this seaweed, which contains the most pure form of its antioxidants, has been shown to help fight hair loss.

I want such hair preserving power. So while I will continue to eat seaweed containing foods, I went looking for some topical applications. I wanted to cover all bases. I like to work on my health from within and without. I’ve found this to be a successful lifestyle formula. Were there any shampoos out there that contained this particular seaweed extract? What better way to get the benefits than to put it directly on my scalp?

I was happy to learn that red Korean seaweed extract was already in the shampoo I was using. Pro Organic shampoo by Pura d’Or already contains it. I’ve been using it for a few months now and my hair is looking fabulous. I really did not want to change my shampoo because of the great results.  I’m happy to know that it contains this fundamental ingredient so that my hair will continue to be the best that it possibly can. It’s one more reason to remain loyal to the Pura d’Or brand. A brand that really is all about preserving hair health. Naturally.
