Why I Am Happy To Spend Money On A Natural Shampoo

I used to be one of those people that laughed at those that would spend extra money on all natural, chemical free shampoo. I would go out and buy Pantene on sale. Or TRESemme for five dollars an extra large bottle that lasted months. My hair looked good and smelled good and I could not figure out why anyone would spend more.

Until I hit my thirties. I had a few kids, and life became very hectic and busy. I had no time to play with my hair to make it look good. As i started to neglect it more and more I noticed that it no longer had a bounce. It no longer looked shiny and healthy. I chalked it up to age. Everyone knows that as you age your hair should start thinning and lose its young fresh look.

I did not want to give up on what used to be a beautiful head of hair without a fight. I read up on how hair grows and what makes it become brittle and dry. I discovered that those wonderful smelling, well priced shampoos had been slowly doing damage. Thinning, limp hair did not have to be part of the aging process.

Hair follicles need to be cared for just like your skin. No one would tell you to just let nature take its course with your skin. Everyone knows you need to exfoliate and cleanse and moisturize your skin from a young age in order to maintain your natural glow. Same goes for hair. You need to put in some effort to find the proper product, massage it into your scalp, and let it sit for two minutes so that the follicles can be nourished.

The best nourishment for hair follicles is an essential oil based shampoo. Not the shampoo you find on all the drugstore shelves across the country. One that does not contain foaming agents and artificial fragrances. Those dry out you hair and can actually damage the follicles, causing thinning, dullness and breakage.

I have since switched to a completely natural, essential oil based shampoo, and signed up to the 2-minute club which delivers it straight to my door on a regular basis. In these past few months I’ve seen a world of a difference. The shine and bounce are back. My hair seems thicker and is growing faster. A lesson has been learned. Those people that started using such shampoos at a younger age were not wasting money. They were investing it in a healthy head of hair.
